Dinner at Vietnam Kitchen 越式小厨 @ Cheras Leisure Mall

Harlo my friends! Sorry to left my blog untouched for the past few weeks! I have been very busy these few weeks as we have started treating real patients in the clinic, plus our schedule was very fulled and packed with lectures and mini tests since the first day we stepped into the clinical year. Gladly I was able to survive through these hectic clinical weeks and hopefully I will get used to it slowly and most importantly everything runs smoothly on the clinical years!  *fingerscrossed*

So today I'm going to blog about my first try on the Vietnamese cuisine at Vietnam Kitchen 越式小厨 @ Cheras Leisure Mall on about last two to three weeks ago (I guess?) haha.

The restaurant is situated at the 2nd floor of the new wing of the mall, just beside the Fitness First. The place is beautiful and cosy, decorated with the pretty Vietnamese lamps and plenty of drum lights in the restaurant. The restaurant occupies an open space with no walls, with the seats and decorations going in a semicircle around the kitchen and counter.

Braised peanuts in soy sauce was served
while waiting for our dinner to come!
It was very delicious!
It was not free though we didn't order it,
a MYR 2 will be charged in your bill.

Finally my set dinner is arrived!

The set comes along with a bowl of vegetable soup,
a kimchi-like side dish and the
classic appetizer - two fried spring rolls in a cute small basket!

The fried spring roll tasted very crispy and great!

Pork Chop cooked with Lemongrass
MYR 16.90 per set
Simple yet tasty dish!

Rice with a fried egg

My dear's set

The side dishes are same as mine

 The main dish
Minced Pork cooked with Caramel Soy Sauce
MYR 19.90 per set
This dish was very flavorful and rich but tasted a bit salty and oily.

Overall the set dinner is delicious and worth-ordering,
and most importantly the portion is big enough for us.
Not to mention that the service provided was good too!

Beautiful Christmas decorations in the Leisure Mall!

Charlie Chaplin's Lesson of Life

Didn't know that other than a great British comic actor and a filmmaker, Sir Charlie Chaplin was also a composer that composed the score for all his films, from the late 1950s to his death, at the age of 88.

A great quote from a great man

True

So, laugh more peeps

I was totally amazed when listening to all his master pieces despite the fact that he was not a trained musician and could not read sheet music and needed the help of professional composers. He taught himself to play the piano, violin and cello as he developed a passion for music as a child.

Since I first heard his music, I can't help but keep repeating the whole sound tracks that was composed by him. Listening to his beautiful music can at least hold back all the stresses and worries before start treating my first real patient after this holiday and bring me a peaceful mind. One of my favourite is "Blue Eyes", opening title of the movie The Kid (1921).

Blue Eyes
The Kid - Opening Title

"Look up to the sky.
You'll never find rainbows if you're looking down."
--- Charlie Chaplin

A fun fact before ending this short post: Charlie Chaplin had blue eyes. Most people guessed he had brown eyes since they only see him in black and white films. LOL haha!

Hope you enjoy his music! Kthxbai!

Jonathan's Birthday Celebration @ The Kitchen, Melia Kuala Lumpur

Finally have time to blog about the great food and great time me and my boy had at The Kitchen, a restaurant in the Melia Kuala Lumpur hotel! It was actually a birthday dinner surprise I planned for him two weeks ago and he really surprised when I brought him into the restaurant.

The Kitchen located at a very strategic location, it situated just beside the Imbi monorail station, we reached there by walking from the station less than 2 minutes.  The restaurant was on the left side of the hotel, both of us were so excited for the buffet dinner once we stepped into the restaurant haha!

I got to know this restaurant through the Groupon website, where I bought two groupons for the buffet dinner at weekends, which costed me 80 bucks each. The price was much more cheaper than dine in without the groupons.

The restaurant provided a great ambiance for us to enjoy the good food and also bonding session *blush blush* There was not much people on that day so we stayed for almost three hours at there eating, chit-chatting and also capturing lots of pictures! We really had a great time at there!

Photo time! Gentle reminder: don't scroll down with an empty stomach!

The buffet dinner started at 6.30pm.
We reached there 15 mins earlier,
so we killed time by taking photo around the hotel.
