First Try at Korea Palace @ Krystal Point!

It is food post again! And it is about my all time favourite Korean dishes againnnnn!

I just cant stop thinking of the delicious bimbibap and soondubu jjigae with the juicy and succulent beef or chicken slices along with the spicy special gochujang paste after the first time I tried them at Bee Won Korean BBQ restaurant @ Festival City, KL.

After the first tried, I think I fell in love with the Korean dishes, deeeeeply! I have went to many Korean restaurants in KL, such as Bulgogi Brothers @ Pavilion, Dubu Dubu @ Midvalley and Times Square and also Bee Won @ Festival City which I went for many times lol for their delicious dishes at very cheap prices without taxes!

Although I am a fans of Korean dishes, but I never try on any Korean restaurant at Penang! So, last week I decided to visit the Daorae Korean BBQ restaurant since I was craving for the Korean dishes but ended up visited the Korea Palace @ Krystal Point, Bayan Lepas! Btw it was a nice try though!

 The menu

After we placed our order, the staff served us the iced corn juice,
which is normally serve in a Korean restaurant,
with that familiar curve shaped water bottle you can find in many Korean restaurants!

Next, a total of 6 side dishes or in Korean called banchan were served!

There were fried sliced sausages with mayonnaise, fresh salad, spicy kimchi,
fresh broccoli and cauliflower and my fav simmered lotus in soy sauce.

The looooong stainless steel spoon and chopsticks normally seen in Korean restaurants!

 Waiting for my lunch!!!

Spicy Fried Rice Cake - RM 25

The rice cakes were fried together with the sliced sausages, hard boiled eggs, fish cakes
and some vege with a special spicy paste and was seasoned with sesame.

I found this dishes quite expensive though, and the rice cakes were chewy
and need to be chewed hard for some time to be swallowed.
The portion was enough to serve 2-3 people.

 Vege Bimbibap - RM 10

My bimbibappppp! This bimbibap was served with only vege though,
with a bowl of hot soup and the special spicy gochujang paste to stir with the rice thoroughly.

The bimbibap came in a plastic bowl instead of stone bowl normally served by
other restaurants though, which I think made the rice not that aromatic.

Btw this bimbibap came along with the 6 side dishes, the iced corn juice and
also desserts for a set lunch at only RM 10 during the lunch hour! It was a great deal indeed!

A table fulled of Korean dishes! I am a happy kid :P

See how much fats I have gained during this looooong sem break!!!
But I just can't resist the temptation of having them!

Watermelons and ginger tea as desserts!

A BIG love to this cold ginger tea!
This tea was sweet enough with the thick aroma of ginger.
I found this tea delicious although I am not a fans of ginger!

If you're a Korean food fans like me, you might give it a try!
The staffs there are very kind and serve good services for the customers.

Birthday Celebration Dinner @ Harvest In Cafe

Many of my family members are August babies, among them are my dad and my sister who are born exactly on the same day!

So, we went to the Harvest In Cafe at Irrawaddy Road for a birthday celebration dinner on that day as suggested by my dad.

As it was Saturday night, the restaurant was fulled when we arrived and we had to wait for about 30 minutes. While waiting at outside, the waitress gave us the menu for us to have a look and made the order.

Plain water was served after we were seated.

After that, a bowl of hot mushroom soup and a bun and butter was served too
as appetizer as we ordered the set dinner.

Just add another RM 5.50 for a set which comes with soup of the day,
bun and butter, a choice of drink (peach tea / lemon tea / white coffee / tea) and a dessert.

The mushroom soup was creamy and thick and of course delicious!
The bun was hot when served so it was very soft and fluffy!

The first birthday boy, my dad was enjoying his soup and bun!

Me and the fish cordon bleu

Fish Cordon Bleu - RM 16.90

The fish was stuffed with chicken ham and cheese,
and served with mashed potato and fresh broccoli.
This dish was not come with any sauce,
so I asked the waiter whether they have tartar sauce,
and ended up with an additional charge of RM 1 on the bill lol!

The cheese flowed out from the layers between the fish and chicken ham!

The second birthday girl, my sis with her fusion style grilled chicken.

Fusion Style Grilled Chicken - RM 15.90

The chicken was topped with melted cheese and a special sauce.
The grilled chicken was juicy and succulent, made people crave for more!
This dish was served along with crispy potato wedges and fresh vegetable.

Bro with his chicken in spicy cheesy sauce.

Chicken in Spicy Cheesy Sauce - RM 15.90

Different among others, this grilled chicken breast is served with buttered rice!
For people who has a large and good appetite, you may opt for this!

My dad ordered this - Black Pepper Chicken!

My mum was ready to try her chicken cordon bleu!

Chicken Cordon Bleu - RM 15.90

The chicken cordon bleu was more or less the same with the fish cordon bleu,
the chicken was stuffed with ham and cheese too,
but it came with a brown sauce!

 Photo time!
Bro and Cindy.

Cake cutting session with two birthday boy and girl!
It was chocolate cheese cake bought by Cindy :)

 Ready to blow the candle!

Group photo with the birthday cake.

We nearly forgot that the desserts were not yet served!
There were choices of jelly or cake with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream to choose from.

P/S: One good thing about this restaurant is there are
no service charge or government tax on the total bill!

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_Ex Review

Recent years, we have seen Korea's music or K-pop and television dramas mesmerizing an international audience across the world, a phenomenon described as the "Korean wave".

Besides the Korean entertainment industry, Korea's cosmetic and skin care brands that focuses on natural, glowing and flawless skin have gained and enjoyed great popularity across the world, too.

One of them is definitely LANEIGE or in chinese as 兰芝, a fast-glowing cosmetic and skin care brand from Korea.

LANEIGE'S PHILOSOPHY

Laneige's "Be Waterful" skin care range

Laneige's "Be Waterful" skin care range that claims to enhance the beauty of Asian women, which focuses on hydration and nourishes the skin with the new and improved Water Science, for radiant and youthful-looking skin, makes me so attracted to that skin care range and the urge to buy one for myself.

Among the skin care range, the Water Sleeping Pack_Ex drew me the most attention. Hence I bought it immediately when I first saw it in a duty free shop at the Bangkok airport, it costed me only RM 71.40 per tub (yup RM 71.40 for the 80ml tub!) as I bought duo pack at RM 142.80 and shared it with my friend. The cheapest price I have seen so far!

Tadah! The Water Sleeping Pack_Ex has a light gel-type texture, and a pleasant sweet aroma too!

It has a transparent soft blue gel, more like turquoise, my favourite colour!

 INGREDIENTS AND EFFECTS

HOW TO USE

  • In the evening, follow the face relaxing massage after applying skin refiener and emulsion after face wash.
  • After taking appropriate amount (2.5cm in diameter recommended), mark on nose tip, cheeks, forehead, and chin areas, and feel the scent for about 3 seconds.
  • Relax your body and mind through the Sleepscent™.
  • Gently spread over the face from inner part to outer part along the skin texture.
  • Go to sleep after absorption without rinsing off. (Wash face in the next morning)
  • Use once or twice a week.
  • Apply more than recommended amount when your skin is particularly dry.
  • Open the cap and breathe in the scent of Water Sleeping Pack_EX about 5 seconds before use when you feel a heavy stress.
  • Apply to neck area for neck care.

I tried to apply some amount on my hand.
The texture is light without stickiness and I like the aromatic scent!

I think I applied the gel too thick,
it was more than enough to be applied all over my hand lol.

When the gel is fully absorbed.
For me, the gel took quite some time to be fully absorbed,
maybe it was too thick and made it difficult to be absorbed instantly.
But it absorbed quickly once I pat over that area.

UV rays as well as various internal causes such as stress, skin impurities and lack of sleep, can damage the skin texture and tone easily.

So, I apply the Water Sleeping Pack_Ex once or twice a week before go to sleep to provide concentrated vitality to the rough and dull skin to restore back the bright and crystal-clear complexion of my skin!

Laneige's Water Sleeping Pack_Ex makes my skin more hydrated and looks more nourishes on the very next day I applied it as sleeping mask before I went to bed. My skin feels softer and supple with less sleep lines appear on my face because I always like to sleep sideways.

Me right after applying the gel before go to bed.
As you can see the gel on my face is not fully absorbed yet
because I applied a thick layer.

I think only a small amount of gel is needed to be applied on the face and neck area because once the gel is applied it is like water spreading all over your face.

A bottle with 80ml gel, well if you have a smaller face than me, plus according to the direction of use "Use once or twice a week", you can rely on it for more than half a year or more lol.

Besides as a sleeping mask, I also tried to use it as a routine skin care or make-up base before I put on make-up. It moisturizes my skin and makes my skin look more radiant. After all, my make-up stayed longer too!

This is me the very next day where I applied the Water Sleeping Pack_Ex.
Photo taken at Penang Hill, without make-up and filtering effect.
Ok lah, this photo is to show my legs purposely hahaha :D

 Closer view X2

Closer view X3. Can you see the clear complexion of my skin? Hahaha :P

Closer view X4. Nah this one really closest view liao loh.
This is the only self-shot I taken at there.
I like my radiant and glowing skin complexion even without make-up and filtering effect!
Pardon my messy hair and the growing black hair roots lol.
